Hi there
I started covering a cake too late last night and then my little boy kept waking up poorly. So I got as far as torting, filling and crumb coat. Decided not to cwrry on as was late. So I let the buttercream set and wrapped well in clingfilm, popped it in freezer. I need to cover with fondant on Saturday. i am off to a wedding today at lunchtime and not back until sat morning. How shall I defrost? Fridge? Counter? Wrapped or unwrapped? It's only a thin crumb coat, I plan on doing another before covering. Thanks.
I am sure keeping on the counter unwrapped should be ok. if its a spongy type of cake, it should defrost quickly.
