A family member of mine is about to retire from teaching after many years. I will be making a cake but am not sure if I should go with a teacher (chalk board, apples, numbers etc) theme or do something completely different like flowers or something, any ideas??

Thanks!

She plans on traveling south, painting, gardening, reading, spending time with her family.

Depending on how large the cake will be I'd try to include most, if not all, of those things.
Have you googled 'retirement cakes' for ideas?

You know the retiree better than we do. Would she LOVE something teacher related OR plans related? OR find a way to incorporate all of it.

I have googled retirement cakes for ideas. I am just stumped as to go for the teacher them or completely opposite. She loved teaching but is very 'ready' to retire.
