Hi everyone,
I hope someone can help me...I want to make banana flavored cupcakes (without real bananas in the batter) using banana extract instead but I'm not sure if I should omit the vanilla extract in the recipe or add both....I just want to make sure.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

No, definitely keep the vanilla. What would great banana bread be without it?

I think you could do either (omit the vanilla or add it). For great banana flavor in my cake, I add a small box of Banana Cream pudding mix (dry) in with my flour. HTH!

You can also use banana extract in your frosting.

Add the banana extract first, then a half amount of vanilla and a pinch of nutmeg. It seems to make the banana flavour stronger.
