Stick to your guns. That's your price, take it or leave it. Who else is she going to get to do it at such short notice? Even if she goes to a shop, she'll end up paying double.

Thanks again! I got the required 50% deposit, and she is within my typical wedding cake contract now. I give all orders until 2 weeks before the date to pay the balance. She was very appreciative that I could help her out (though I did NOT lower my price, only made adjustments to the cake!). And I'm happy I could get the order. Yes, I am charging the full amount for delivery also.

Lolll - never ceases to amaze me how others think $xxx.xx is too expensive for a cake.
If it was that easy/cheap to create from start to finish then they would be doing it themselves....

Glad you stayed true to yourself.... walk away from those who TELL YOU what you and your work is worth.
