I have a customer that wants buttercream frosting (with rolled Buttercream accents") for an outdoor party. My go to buttercream is made with all butter but I have used all Crisco or half n half before. My question is which one would hold up best outdoors? The party is the end of May so I dont expect 90 degree weather but I also dont want the frosting to melt. TIA
I use only European buttercreams and do many outdoor events. I just handle it correctly. I have found that in every case that the bride or client wants an outside event in hot weather, they allow me to handle the cake correctly. In many of these cases, they hire us as attendants and we get added income. We store the cake correctly, either with our equipment or on site, assemble at the proper time, and present as a grand entrance instead of something just sitting around.
I use Charlotte's Buttercream all the time and it holds up well in heat. Indydebi's bc also is very heat tolerant.
