I need my icing to dry quickly. Is it okay to use a blow dryer (on low or cool) or is that a bad idea?
TIA
Not sure if that would work or not, but if you're using a crusting BC it only takes 15 or so minutes to crust. Also, try sticking it in the fridge or freezer. I stick mine in the freezer for about 10-15 minutes and it hardens up pretty firm.
Here's Sugarbelle's fan technique.

Thanx! I'm using glace.
I will try the fan. I will also try the blow dryer since it doesn't matter how these cookies look. Its for the kids by a family picnic. Best opportunity to try stuff!
Rather than use a blow dryer, use a heat gun. I bought one fairly cheap at Michael's in their scrapbooking section. Using their weekly coupon, I think I spent just over $10. It works great for getting your icing to dry quickly! Just let the icing sit for a little bit before using the heat gun. I keep the gun about 6" or so above the cookies and move it slowly back and forth. Best $10 I ever spent!
