I made some cupcakes this week with a Mary Berry recipe which came out lovely. Does anyone have any advice about using cupcake recipe in a round/square cake pan and any experience with whether they hold up well under fondant?

I find that cake and cupcake recipes are pretty much interchangeable (if not identical), so I'd give it a try.
