I recently emailed our area's Senator in the Montana State Senate about Montana going to Cottage Baking Laws. She hadn't heard of anyone advocating for Cottage Baking Laws. It seemed like she thought that the state wanted to tighten the laws we already have.

Anyone from Montana have any ideas or heard anything? The next legislative session starts January 2013.

I haven't heard anything about it. The laws are already really strict. I can't imagine them getting any tighter. This is one of the reasons I've never gone into business. Even selling cookies at the farmer's market requires a commercial kitchen. Who did you contact?

I live in Dillon (Beaverhead County) and emailed Debby Barrett. It is weird because Senator Jon Tester, is supposed to be one of the people that helped make the cottage laws possible.
