I've been wanting to purchase a few different cake dummies (nothing too large) and have seen a few on amazon that are relatively cheap on amazon but shipping of course is pretty expensive (I'm assuming because how large they are). I have been to the local craft stores here in town but I haven't seen anyone in the area that sells cake dummies. Is it possible to make them without too much work or should I just pay the $15 in shipping on amazon or other sites?
Thank you!

I use Dallas Foam. http://www.dallas-foam.com/store/cakedummies.html

Shipping large dummies can be expensive. They really try to find the smallest container possible.

they have the best prices and the shipping is fair. Takes about a one to get.

I got 6" round, three 8" round, 11" round, 10" round, 9" oblong and 8" hexagon all together with shipping came out to about $25.00

I used Dallas Foam before, but just recently found Shape Innovation and they are even cheaper (dummies & shipping). You can see pricing online, but need to call in your order. Good customer service, had the dummies in about 6 business days. The edges are a bit shaper than Dallas Foam, but either need to be dulled. Shipping was $25 for 21 pieces (cost for 21 pieces before shipping was $34).
