Hi, hoping that someone can give me advise on making the head on a LEOPARD 3D Cake. I am wanting to surprise my son that will be graduating this June with the cake. I am hoping to make the head out of rice crispy treats, but not sure if it will get stiff enough to hold up, and how should I attach it to the cake? Please HELP!!!!

I have attached a cake like the one I would love to make.

Thanks,
Amelia

Hi,

RKTs is a good medium to use for the head. I use rkts all of the time for my figures. I love it because it holds up very well icon_smile.gif Mold your basic shape of your head first, push inward to mold the eye sockets, then add on pieces for the nose and then the ears. Be sure that your RKTs are squeshed together tightly, otherwise, you will have a hard time molding.

CONTINUED:

You could even make the area of the nose out of fondant if your unable to achieve the look with the rkts. Also, to make a pretty smooth surface to work with, you can ice the head with melted chocolate and it will fill in any open spaces as well.
