Deep Rich Colour For Fondant?

Hello

How to get deep rich colours(say deep purple,blood red,black) for fondant-gumpaste blend for making flowers?

I always end up in painting over the flowers to get a darker colour?
But i found most of the cakes here has that deep rich colours.Help icon_smile.gif

I would buy pre-colored fondant if you are wanting a very dark color. Or airbrush it after it is on the cake.

for black, I add cocoa powder to my fondant to get it a nice dark brown, then it only takes a little black coloring to make it black- plus it tastes yummy.

Also if you make your fondant ahead of time, and wrap it tightly and let it sit for a few hours or overnight, it will darken.

Americolor gel is one of the best brands to use

I do the same with adding cocoa powder to the fondant (or start with chocolate marshmallows). To get red, I use strawberry marshmallows, then add more red coloring. Works great!
