Please help.....

Can anybody tell me how I can get rid of the white marks on my black fondant iced cake?

I have made a Twilight cake for my daughters birthday today but am not happy with the finish. Can anybody tell me how I can give it a bit of a shine. Iv tried steaming it and brushing it with vodka....but no joy!!!

First clean as much of the powdered sugar marks as you can off the cake with a soft paintbrush, then try rubbing it with a little (very little!) shortening. This gives a more matte finish than steaming it, but it looks very nice.

I finding rubbing the marks lightly with a little ball of left over fondant works well to remove the marks.
