I have wondered about that for some time 
I looked at several different models that could be purchased from pottery suppliers. If you got a brand new one and used it to put the cake turntable on, then I think it might work. But haven't gotten around to actually comparing some and pricing them.

I think they're ridiculous, especially for icing. They only go 2-9rpmwhat if you want to ice cakes faster than that? All you need is a manual turntable that doesn't wobbleone that you can have complete control over to accomplish what you want.
