Help - i made some gumpaste/fondant decorations and painted them with the "14K" gold hi lite dust mixed with lemon extract - it works great, but if i even touch the gold it comes off immediately. How can i stabilize it so it won't flake or rub off so easily. I need to transport the decorations and am worried about how the gold covering will fare. Would steaming help?

Did you let the pieces dry very well before applying additional coats? They need to dry coat after coat.
