I am doing a cake for a 40th birthday feeding 70. It is going to be decorated in hot pink b/c- swirled to look like its covered in flowers with 2 fondant bows staggered going up the stack. There will be a rhinestone initial on the top.

Would it look nicer to do 6,9, and 12inches - 2 layers each
or

9 and 12- 3 layers each

PLEASE give me your opinions as I don't do a ton of stacked and I want this to look really good. Thanks so much!

In my opinion, a 6, 9, and 12 would look better but that's a lot of cake for 70 people I think. I just dont like the idea of doing 3 layers in one tier. Even though we know it's more cake, they still cut the slices the same size and you don't get your servings out of it. If you do only 2 tiers, why not just do a 9 and 12 with the standard 2 layers per tier? Without looking right at the chart, I think that would feed 70 people. Good luck!
