Hi Everyone-

I'm hoping you all can help me. I am making a cake for my son's first birthday and my family is not too fond of fondant. I was hoping to frost my cake with either italian buttercream or chocolate ganashe and finish the cake with fondant cutouts (little stars, circles etc). Is this possible to do or will the fondant cutouts fall off the cake?

Thanks

No it won't, I put fondant pieces on a buttercream cake before and it stayed in place!

I have never used IMBC but on Crisco/butter w/powdered sugar there is no problem. My guess would be no problem w/ganash either if you let it set up/harden before adding the fondant piece.
