I was wondering if any of you could share the ways that you transport cakes.. How you wrap them and what not.. I have tried cling wrap with toothpicks stuck in my cake to keep it from touching my frosting but it always ends up touching anyway.. I don't want to spend a fortune on packaging when it will just be thrown away... So really looking for INEXPENSIVE things to do!!! Thanks! =)

If you are looking to re-use your method of cake transport, Wilton sells cake and cupcake transporters. They have plastic domes and hold cakes/cupcakes in place. It's an initial investment, but if you re-use it, it's worth it.

The next time I do a cake like that, I intend to purchase a large Rubbermaid tub or other similar box. I will turn the box upside-down, use the lid as my base, then snap the box in place over my cake. That way, I can deliver my cake safely, keep my investment (the box), and leave the recipients with a smaller cardboard cake box for leftovers. Hope that helps!
