I made b/c pearls several times for border with tip 12, I let them set up and then used pearl dust with vodka and litely painted the pearls. It was really pretty. The pearl sheens in the can do great on b/c cakes also.hth You can mix your dust and vodka in a small spray bottle and use it that way also. I saw that at ices convention several years ago.

I just tried painting luster dust onto buttercream this week and it worked. You can also use vanilla extract or lemon juice. I don't have vodka laying around.
