i need to do a 2tier cake w/roses cascading down the side... the cake also has at least a 2-3 hour total travel time, and will change hands after the first hour. i think i know the answer, but can the roses be made out of buttercream? it's obvious that they should be gumpaste w/wire to anchor to cake...right? icon_redface.gif

thanks for your help!!! icon_smile.gif

Sure the roses can be made out of buttercream! Make them in advance, let them air dry, then when you're ready to attach them to the cake you start building the cascade from the bottom up so the lower roses are helping to support the upper roses. You don't need wire or gumpaste, just adhere with buttercream or let the BC leaves provide the glue to hold it all together (or both).

It will also help to keep the cake chilled for the duration of the delivery (you can use a cooler)
