Hi all!

Just found a recipe for cooked frosting with a red velvet cake... just had a quick question... should this be ok to pipe? Nothing majorly intricate, but swirls on a cupcake? Not sure if I made it wrong... but it just doesn't seem stiff enough.. and almost looks as though it'd melt.

Thank for your help!

Vicky

I've made that frosting several times and it comes together like whipped cream, light and fluffy. It pipes beautifully too.

I dunno why yours looks like it might melt.... mine looks like regular buttercream/whipped cream.

That's Magnolia's cooked frosting that they put on top of their red velvet.

Here's a video, if that would help.
