how do I put spray of fondant cutouts on wire into cake top?

Plug one end of a straw with chocolate or fondant, slide your wires into the straw and then insert the straw into the cake. That will prevent your wires from touching the cake. If you want them inserted individually rather than in a bunch, you could use coffee stir sticks.
