Hi everyone,
I have done a lot of cake balls/truffles, and usually after dipping them in chocolate, I use a squeeze bottle to put melted candy melts on top to add a little design, etc. However, I'm interested in what others use to get that "drizzled," messy look on top of cake balls? The squeeze bottle makes it come out very neat, which is fine, but I want to try something different.
thanks!
Are you freezing your cake balls first? If not, crumbs could come off into your chocolate and make them lumpy. If you're chocolate is a little lumpy, try melting more or adding a little Crisco.
I use dipping tools so I don't touch them. Wilton makes a couple different kinds.
this past Christmas I got "creative" and made small RI decorations and after they dried I put them on the top of the cake ball with a small squirt of RI. I have done the drizzle method too, using the bottle method and with a fork.
Kate thanks....i do freeze them. it isnt the crumbs its the melts...they are just thick. i will try the crisco. They just arent smooth at all no matter how much i melt or how long the container(those ceramic melting bowl things) just gets hotter.
thanks though i will try this weekend.
