So, I finally found a kitchen to rent, and will be fully legal by the middle of next month. I am wondering what is the best way to bring in business? Since I will not have a storefront, I will be an online bakery that caters to custom cakes, and desserts. I know that I cannot advertise until I am legal but I need to line up business now, so that I can pay for my rent each month. Any suggestions about the best way to do this would be helpful.

I would put the word out by contacting the wedding planners in your area. Put an ad in your local paper advertising your new business. Local papers are usually not very expensive. Upscale hairdressing companies, put your card on their counter (all brides have a hairdresser). Maybe the wedding dress stores in your area will allow you to put business cards in their shop or a small ad. Also try the florists in your area too. Good Luck. Your cakes are gorgeous.
