Im making my first tiered fondant cake. How do I assemble the real cake on top of the dummy cake. Its just 6" amd 9" high. Should I still use a dowell? thanks,

You could have one dowel in the center that connects the 9 inch to the 6 inch to make sure the top tier does not shift during transport. However, since the bottom layer is a dummy I don't feel like you need multiple dowels in the bottom.
