Yesterday I was making cake pops and I thought I would make a Christmas tree and a turkey. I had to color the candy melts but that was ok because tada I had the wilton candy melt coloring. What a mess it was. I mixed it in the container first and added it to the coating. I seized up. I was so disappointed. I will only use powdered color from here on in

You gotta use the special candy melt coloring which is oil based in candy melts. I had to find that out the hard way too! You'd think the small amount of water in Wilton gel wouldn't matter but it does.

I gave up on Wilton candy melts. I only use Almond Bark. Never have a problem.
