Can anyone please help me? I need to know if I have to line the ribbon before putting it on the fondant? I have heard that with buttercream I have to cover the ribbon or it will absorb grease. But I don't know with fondant. And what do I use to make the ribbon adhere to the fondant? Thank you so much!

I use ribbon over fondant all the time, and I have never had a problem with needing to line it. I either attach it with a dot of royal icing where the ends meet, or I use a tiny ball of fondant that i add a bit of water too and knead until it becomes a sticky gum, just depends on whats more handy at the moment.
