Hi All,

I've been asked to do some cupcakes (I don't do alot of cupcakes-I tend to focus on cakes) and the client's request is for me to do "the most beautiful cupcakes that she has ever seen". I have a few designs in mind, but was hoping that some of you avid cupcakers would share the most beautiful cupcakes that you have ever seen. I'm hoping that it may generate some more design ideas.
*on a side note, I also have to do a couple of "manly" cupcakes in the same order so if you have any in mind, that would be great!
Thanks in advance!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Someone might think glitter and bling on a pink cuppie is beautiful, while another person may think that's crass and cheap. I would ask the customer to please clarify what she means by that, or to at least give you a little guidance as to what she considers beautiful. If you don't know what she means you are setting yourself up for disappointment on her part which will translate to trouble for you.

Could you give us a few parameters? All buttercream, all fondant, flowers, swirls, etc.?

She didn't really have anything in mind, which is why she left it up to me.
The only thing that she mentioned was that one of the celebrants really likes flowers and one of them is a man who likes birds.
With respect to mediums, I was wanting to do a combination of all buttercream, fondant, along with some different techniques so there is a variety, so really anything goes.

I love this post..I love looking at the most perfect things to give me inspiration for future projects or just to strive to do things the best. I have not attempted cupcakes like these but it is what I would love to create when I do attempt it! All these people are really amazing in what they do!

mrswendall~~Thank you for starting this thread! I have really enjoyed seeing so many lovely cupcake designs.

Even though this isn't my thread, I would love to see more buttercream designs. The fondant designs are exquisite, but must take forever to create. Are there any more stunning buttercream, piped examples?

(and I LOVE the cupcations cupcakes as well!)

Cupcations, do you mind sharing what you use under the fondant? Do you fill, use buttercream, a little or a lot? And do you find that people bite into the fondant or do they take it off, much like both ways on a cake?

Your work is beautiful.

Thank you Apti!
I find that most people like the traditional swirl, lately I've been doing A LOT of swirls & then topped with some fondant accents, but here are some other "piped" examples:

Thank you again S!
I use BC under my fondant just enough to make it stick not dome I would say around 1 tsp or so. Whereas to eating the fondant lol I've only been present once while people eating my cupcakes, that time they ate the whole thing including the decos icon_rolleyes.gif , but every person is different, personally I cant eat the fondant, too sweet for me!

Thanks for all the amazing ideas. Anyone remember way back when you stuck a cherry on top with an angelica leaf and thought that was pretty!
