Forgive me but I have no experience working with fondant and I am anxious to learn...this might be a silly question to all you wonderful and talented bakers but can you use regular food coloring to color white fondant?

If you are talking liquid colours, then no. You should use gels for best results. HTH.

I used it and it was fine but I was making my own MMF. I just added the colour in before mixing up the 'malllows. You just have to replace the liquids with the food colouring, unless you're using the gel colouring.

So if you use a teaspoon of colour, then use a teaspoon less of water in the mix to even it out.

I too have used liquid food coloring, - i do have to say it does get very sticky - as if adding water to it so don't use too much. To help it i keep a little powdered sugar and i kneed the fondant over sprinkled pow sugar on my table.
