Hope you guys can help! I'm very new at making cakes for sale and am trying to manage my cost. Any suggestions on wholesale suppliers for cake bases, boards, fondant etc??

It is not necessarily wholesale, but fondant source has GREAT prices for cake drums and SPS. I got a pack of five 12-inch round drums, 1/2 inch thick, for $10.49. My local cake store charges $4.39 for one.

I'm in Milwaukee so my choices are Cook's cake supply and they sell each at over $4 or Michael's and they sell the Wilton packs of 2 for $8 plus depending on size, so online ordering is going to be the way to go for me other than Home Depot and going with wood base

If you have a vendor license. Decopac. They are great to deal with.

I guess it depends on where you live because I tried fondant source and the shipping turned out to be more than the cost of the item and more than the cost I would pay locally, so that didn't work out for me.

My husband makes a lot of my boards for me. Maybe one day he'll start selling them.
