I am doing some lion cupcakes for a childs bday party and don't want to use buttercream because it is so sweet. Does anyone have a recipe for a whipped frosting that is firm enough to decorate with? I have used some in the past but they just don't seem to get as firm as I would like. Thanks for the input!!

This is a buttercream but it is very light and not overly sweet.

Many on here love the whimsical bakehouse house b/c. I have made it and it really tasty. The one the op posted on this site is very popular also. I have not tried it, but just reading it, i know it is good.
