I have had a request to make a grooms cake in the shape of a spur (the kind that cowboys wear on their boots). Any ideas, suggestions and pictures would be a great help!! This is for a grooms cake for April of next year. Just figured I would get a head start researching my options. I have a horseshoe shaped pan and thought I would use it - any suggestions on how to do the spike thing on the back???

I imeadately pictured the horseshoe pan.....In fact it just poped into my head that in some Wilton yrbk there is something like I thought of. A colorflow star is used as the spur - all iced in golden yellow.
Maybe someone has some of the older yrbks and can look it up for you. I'm thinking maybe from the yrs in the 1980s?
