I live in CA and the little silver dragees are illegal, but I wanted to do a wedding cake with something similar as a silver accent since the wedding colors include silver (shiny silver). The bride did not want the silver to be too large, but thought that the small balls would add a great sparkle (I agree!). Any suggestions for alternatives?

Thanks!

You can use small tapioco balls, drop them in silver dust and that is great also, Plus they are not so hard . If you have the time, you can cut them from fondant, using a icing tip, to get them the same size, roll the, let them dry on peice of soft foam, then drop them in the silver dust(in a bag with a little vodka added. shake bag really good . pour out on smooth paper towel. The same directions with the tapioca. using the vodka with the dust in a plastic bag. Have used this before with Nick Lodges instructions. hth
