My DS is turning 4 and wants a "Gordon" train cake (Gordon is one of Thomas the Tank Engine's friends - a big long steam engine with a coal tender and he is engine #4). I do not have the 3D cake pan.
I have seen train cakes made from loaf pans, but I wonder if I am better off baking sheet cakes and stacking and carving from those since the bake times would be more predictable.
Looking for any tips/suggestions. So you know, planning on covering with BC and I might make Gordon's face out of fondant, but I am a bit scared because I really haven't worked with fondant before (I did use pre-packaged fondant and roll it out and cut with cutters, but that was it).
Thanks!
