Someone asked me if i could make a cake for his family. They're only 4.
I will make a round 6 inch cake with fairly simple decorations i think. He is picking the cake up here himself. So how much should i charge? I don't want to charge too much since its such a small cake.

For me a 6in butter cream cake would be $36, but the smallest single tier cake I will bake is a 8in round.

Btw the cake will be covered in fondant and have some flowers. Thats all i know now, but he asked for the price.

$4 times 12, the number of servings a 6in cake would make. So $48 instead of $36.

You'll want to use the link in the first post to figure out what price per servings covers all of your needs. But just because a cake is smaller doesn't mean you charge less for it, no less than your normal per serving amount would be anyway.

Mine are $40 to $48, but they are not custom. They are all 6 inches. I think I only have two on my site, but four more are ready for publication. I have certain decorated cakes in specific flavors that I advertise and will make for that price. I am familiar with them and they take little time because they are repetitive. The ones with fondant have envelopes with templates that have been previously calculated, so the time facor is not unusual.

I agree with texassugar..6 inch would be $36 for me too. but I don't turn my oven on for less than 8 inch. since 6 inch taxes same amount of time.
