Need help with a flower topper!
I have just started experimenting w/gumpaste flowers. How do you achieve the elevated look when placing several flowers on top of the cake? Do you make a mound of fondant and stick them in or do you build up a mound of icing? And do you make the flower topper on a cardboard circle first and then place that on top of the cake?
Thank You!!

When i make this look, i just make a mound from fondant, use edible glue and then add the flowers to this mound. we did this in Toba Garrets class. There could be other ideas also. hth

You could make some flowers on wires to give them a lift.
