If you could pick any cupcake flavor and frosting combo for your birthday, what would you pick? My birthday is coming up and I'm craving a chocolate cupcake filled with chocolate fudge and walnuts and of course chocolate frosting. I'm curious to see what everyone would request.

This is such a hard one because my flavour palate changes all of the time! But I'd have to say my top pics would be:
- vanilla with almond buttercream
- banana with dulce de leche buttercream
- sticky toffee with toffee buttercream
- strawberry with raspberry cream buttercream
- lemon with lemon buttercream (but with lemon curd flavoring the buttercream - not lemon extract - it makes a world of a difference) .

my birthday is coming up this week and I'm making myself chocolate cupcakes with mint mousse filing and chocolate mint whipped ganache frosting.

It would all depend on the day. Could be caramel one day, RV, the next, lemon the next, etc, etc.

However, my ultimate flavor is probably hazelnut with nutella buttercream.

I would want either boston cream cupcakes or pumpkin cupcakes filled with fig jam and frosted with pumpkin spice butter cream... or the chocolate mint cupcakes that bonniebakes mentioned...or the chocolate fudge walnut cupcake that you mentioned. mmmmm cupcakes

Oh wow! umm!
I'm gonna say chocolate fudgy cupcake and chocolate ganache frosting, a huge ganache swirl on top!....................

...........I love chocolate (This is me dreaming about chocolate!)

I'd have to pick a ginger spice cake filled with home-made lime curd and topped with fresh lime cream cheese frosting... it's just sweet and just sour enough, it's delicious!

I have two cupcakes that never cease to make me happy...birthday or not

1. chocolate cupcake with peanutbutter buttercream and a peanut butter ganache drizzle (a variation of the Sky High Cake)

2. High Hat cupcakes...chocolate cupcake piled high with marshmallow meringue frosting dipped in chocolate coating.

Mine would be a choice of the three:

vanilla with chocolate frosting
lemon with lemon curd filling and lemon frosting
coconut with coconut frosting

There are more but these are my top three right now.

German chocolate with coconut/pecan frosting. Or black forest: german chocolate with sour cherry filling (not pie filling!) and whipped cream.

I would have to say peanut butter for both!

Well I'm glad you asked(= Today just happens to be my birthday and I LOVE chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. But not just any chocolate frosting. There is a bakery in San Pedro that has the BEST chocolate frosting ever. I've never had a frosting as good as theirs. And lucky for me that's what my mom brought me (= She spoils me....lol

Those cupcakes all sound good. I don't know why lately, but anything sweet doesn't appeal to me. I don't know if it is because I make cupcakes all the time or if it because my taste changed, but it makes me sad that I don't eat sweets any more.
I use to be 300# and lost over 100#, maybe that is why I don't even crave sweets. I really crave real food, like meat.
And believe me, I didn't get to be 330# by not eating sweets.
