I am going to do a jungle themed baby shower cake, and would like to cover the cake board in a giraffe print cloth I found, and possibly then cover that with clear contact paper.
Has anyone ever done that??? Or if you have any other suggestions??
I thought I saw someone post something similar to this before but no luck in finding it again, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, I do this all the time. I cover the board with cloth then contact paper. I like to do this several days in advance and let it sit to allow any chemicals to hopefully disappate. Just make sure you then attach a CAKE BOARD to the contact paper (I use double sided tape ) for the cake to actually sit on. You don't want the cake to come in contact with the contact paper. (Bad chemical thingies...don't know their names.)
Here are some I've done that way:

Hope this helps. Good luck

Contact paper is not food safe. Use food safe cellophane. Wrapping paper is another good source. Still cover it.
