What is the best type of cake to cover with fondant?
I have been trying to bmke a cake by the creaming method, but it does not turn out... too dry, too heavy etc. I live in a high altitude of 3500. I have tried to compensate but still does not turn out right.

Have you tried a sour cream or yougurt pound cake? very moist but still dense enogh to hold fondant
