Can you use gum tex with fondant instead of tylose powder. I am making a cake for the fair and I have used gum tex before but did not like it for making flowers. How would gum tex work covering a dummy cake with fondant and gum tex mixed with it. If anyone could help me I sure would appreciate it.

There's no reason to add either tylose, or gum tex, to fondant when covering a cake. It will serve no real purpose and increase the possiblity of forming elephant skin.
