I am making my first wedding cake this week for a family friend. It is going to be a 6,8, 12in stacked cake.

I have covered cakes in fondant before and am pretty confident about doing so. What I haven't done is made 3 tiers all in the same color fondant. What is your method for getting all of that fondant the same color?

They want it to be in the cobalt blue family (light shade in the same hue) and at this point purchasing enough fondant is out of the question.

To ease the kneading process, I divide the fondant into 3 or 4 "hunks", color each piece separately and then knead them all together so the color will be uniform.
