Ok, I've got a friend getting married in September. I'm not big on recreating someone else's idea, but she really wants me to make her wedding cake look like Miranda Lambert's wedding cake that Jay Qualls made. It's a tooled leather look. Luckily, my husband does leather work, so I know how to acheive the same look on fondant, but this particular cake has the designs standing out instead of pressed in. Anyone have any suggestions for me? icon_smile.gif

I wonder if you made the fondant overly thick and carved the decorative motifs into it, if it would be close. I'd practice and see what happens, GL, it's a tall order! Literally! icon_wink.gif

LOL. Yes it is! Luckily, she only wants two tiers. So I won't have as much work to do. That's a good idea. I'll definitely have to play around with it.
