Just doubled my chocolate cake recipe, its sinking in the middle!! I have to do another double recipe, so i would prefer to not have to bake this cake 5 times LOL! How do I double a chocolate cake recipe without it sinking!!!!

You doubled the recipe and baked it in a much larger pan? First thing I would do is check the math. It's easy to make a mistake when scaling up ingredients. And any possibility you switched out baking soda - baking powder? What about oven temperature - did you make any adjustments? A larger pan usually bakes at a lower temp for a longer time. And did the cake bake long enough?

Let us know how the next batch baked.

Not sure what happened! I checked everything twice, I didnt measure wrong...once I leveled it though, it was just ever so slightly dipped in the middle that you couldnt even tell once I got the filling and icing on!! Whoo, disaster avoided this time icon_redface.gif
