I'm planning on making a swimming pool & beach ball for my cousin birthday..
I need to know if I color the piping gel blue or is it the buttercream under that is colored blue?
Second question, will mmf melt if its touching the piping gel? I wanted to cover the ball in fondant stripes.

I've used piping gel to glue fondant on fondant many of times. It's been with store bought, but I can't see it hurting the MMF. Use just enough to make things stick.

I find that if you colour the piping jelly it gives it a weird artificial pool look. I would recommend putting the clear jelly over the coloured fondant/ buttercream.
