I've been asked to make a fake 4 tier for a wedding on august 27th. Is it to early to cover the dummies? Will the fondant dry out? I'd love to start handpainting it now icon_smile.gif

Although I'm not an expert, I would imagine a dummy can be covered as far ahead as you like! The fondant WILL dry but shouldn't crack or look bad!

It's a dummy cake..........they keep darn near forever. Do you really care if the fondant dries out? No one is planning to eat the "cake" right? Cover and paint at any time.
