I'm making a boot cake for a boss for a baby shower, but she wanted cream cheese filling so i've been refrigerating the cake. Last time i refrigerated a cake with MMF it was fine. But this MMF is melting!!

Is there anything to help stop the melting?

any help is appreciated!
Should i add that it's 100 + degrees outside?

I don't have luck refrigerating MMF either...sorry. I only use it on cakes that don't need refrigeration, because it does get very "wet" and "melty" when refrigerated.

Do you have the cake in a box? That may help.

usually when cakes covered in fondant are refrigerated, they get very moist when taken out of the fridge. Is the fondant running down the sides of the cake like melting ice cream or just sticky and soft ? with mine I let it air dry for a couple of hours or put it in from of a running fan ( electric fan) to dry. That's all I can think of.. unless you want to peel off all of the fondant and cover it again.
good luck..

If you have air conditioning that will help to dry the fondant up. You can also place the cake in front of a fan to help dry it up. Don't touch the fondant while it is damp and sticky, you will leave fingerprints.
