Hello, I'm here again with my newbie questions!

I have made a fruit cake which I've covered in marzipan and is now drying on top of the piano!

Can someone tell me please when I should ice it? It's been drying for 2 days so far and is for my parents anniversary 'do' which is in 8 days. I was thinking of icing it on Tuesday/Wednesday which gives me about 3 days to put wrong any mistakes!

Also...

I'm adding stars on wires and wondered a) how far in advance I can make those and b) is there anything I should know before starting them?!!

Thanks in advance, CC has become the new 'Facebook' I'm loving it!

you can make your stars on wires many months in advance and they will be fine in fact i think the earlier the better for them to dry out, also if its a fruit cake and covered in marzipan first you can decorate it now if not then two days early will be fine
