hi, I can't upload pics with my IPad but this pic is on Ideasforabride.blogspot.com/ 2 nd cake down that is 3 round tiers & white w/ sugar gardenias & ribbon. Anyone know of a great tutorial for that flower & the ribbon is really hard for me to see the color. Is it silver?? Doesn't look to be sheer. Can you guys tell? Doing this cake for my nephew in Nov. & would like to start practicing these flowers now. Thanks a bunch.

I'd say pick what ever ribbon you think would look best on it.

I can't be sure looking at the picture. You could go to http://www.reasonableribbon.com/ and look at the organza ribbon (several pages) there are many greens and different widths.
It could also be silk ribbon as #2703 on this page: http://www.silkribbon.com/category_40/Greens.htm
Or go to a fabric store and see what they have.

After all that blah, blah, blah, I agree with TexasSugar.

I'd do thin silver fondant and dust it with pearl dust.

By ribbon, OP, do you mean the ribbon wrapping around the stem of the assembled gardenia? On my monitor it looks green and translucent, hence my previous post.

The ribbon around the cake...looks a bit metallic silver to me. But I could be completely wrong...lol

When I go to that page, there is no picture of the cake, just of the flowers being made. Obviously I was talking about the wrong ribbon, so you can just ignore me.
