I am not from Boston, but I would assume that Boston has a Hobby Lobby or Michaels. I got my seashell molds from Hobby Lobby. I would assume that layer size would depend on the placement design. When I did my seashell themed cake it was 4 tier on pillars and some seashells were placed on top and around the base of the cake, so the size of the tiers didn't matter so much as the size of the cake boards themselves. The seashell mold I purchased made seashells slightly less then 2" long and maybe an 1" wide at most, so you may be looking for something larger then that.

Edited to add: You can do a google search and find literally hundreds of websites to order seashell molds. The site you want would depend highly on the authencity of the look you want and the price you are willing to pay.
