Hello, I'm hoping someone here can help me!

I was attempting to make whoopie pies for the first time. I started to pre-heat the oven while I was making and scooping the batter onto the cookie sheets, only to find that my oven is not heating up! I left it on for a half-hour, and it's still only lukewarm inside, so I obviously can't do any baking today.

Since I don't have any experience making whoopie pies, can anyone tell me how I can properly save the batter to use at a later time? Does it freeze well? How long will it keep in the refrigerator? I don't normally freeze doughs and batters, aside from cookie dough at Christmas.

I don't see why you could not freeze it. I freeze cake batter and cookie dough all the time. Just let it thaw overnight in the refrigerator and it should be good to go. HTH.
