my brother's birthday is next week and we are having a small party on the beach. it is really hot and i need a cake that can take the heat. i will keep it in a cooler but all day and at some point will be out. i was thinking about making a whipped cream filling with fruit or chocolate chips and freezing it so that it could defrost slowly while we are at the beach. would this work?? any sugestions??
(my brother is going to be 4)

i would not use whipped cream frosting if you are gonna be at the beach. my advice? make cupcakes with a flavored buttercream. you won't have to worry about them being chilled. and what 4 year old doesn't love cupcakes?

I would definitely keep it simple if it's going to be at the beach. I also think cupcakes are the best way to go. No plates, forks, knife needed for eating.
